The strategic alliance integrates Cubic's Simplified Planning, Execution, Analysis, Reconstruction software with Draken's Phantom Sky range control platform, strengthening the company's Red Force adversary training ecosystem.
Under the partnership, Cubic will provide data collection, air combat maneuvering instrumentation, and live, virtual, and constructive training capabilities that are fully integrated into Phantom Sky.
The platform enables exercise controllers to track aircraft, monitor simulated weapons and electronic warfare effects, communicate with every participant in a training scenario, and reconstruct missions for detailed post-flight analysis.
It also supports geographically dispersed training environments by controlling surface threat emitters and coordinating live, virtual, and constructive assets within a single exercise.
The addition of Cubic's technologies is expected to improve the realism, accuracy, and credibility of large-scale air combat training.
Partnerships Advance Defense Training
The Cubic-Draken alliance follows several recent collaborations aimed at strengthening military training through advanced simulation and integrated technologies.
In July, CAE and Leonardo agreed to modernize training for the M-346 Master by adding Live, Virtual and Constructive training, Live Synthetic Integration, and a roadmap for future Block 20 aircraft and AI-enabled operations.
In June, Indra Group and BAE Systems' OneArc partnered to enhance the Spanish Army's land vehicle simulators by integrating VBS4 virtual battlefield software and Blue IG image-generation technology to create more realistic and interoperable combat training.
Earlier, in March, Calian Group and ADGA Group launched a collaboration aimed at developing digitally integrated training systems for the Canadian Army that connect command, communications, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting functions in realistic operational environments.
