Virginia-based V2X has secured an $87-million contract to overhaul SUU-79 pylons used on US Navy F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft.
The SUU-79 is a critical underwing subsystem that enables F/A-18 aircraft to carry and deploy weapons and other stores. V2X has supported the sustainment of Navy F/A-18 systems, including pylons, since the aircraft entered service in the 1980s.
Under the contract, V2X will overhaul and modernize the pylons using advanced repair and lifecycle sustainment techniques, extending their service life and supporting frontline naval aviation operations.
All work will be performed in Indianapolis, Indiana, with completion expected by January 2030.
