Satellite communications company Calian Group has partnered with technical solutions firm ADGA Group Consultants to support next-generation land training and simulation for the Canadian Army.
The team aims to build flexible training setups that work across different platforms. These systems will let soldiers practice under realistic conditions, including situations where communications are limited and require fast-paced decisions.
The three-year collaboration will focus on digitally integrated command, control, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting solutions that link in a centralized network.
It will also provide system-agnostic equipment, synthetic training environments, and secure digital infrastructure, as well as technical expertise and hands-on support, to maintain tactical rehearsals.
Chris Pogue, president of defense and space at Calian, emphasized that the agreement with ADGA will help the Canadian government in adapting new, “cohesive” approaches to prepare its warfighters.
“By working together with ADGA, we can scale secure, integrated training environments that evolve with the modern battlefield and grow alongside the Canadian Armed Forces,” he said.
‘Non-Negotiable’ Support
The consortium noted that the partnership aligns each company’s expertise to meet growing operational demands and reflect the realities of evolving threats.
The effort also supports Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy by strengthening domestic capability and accelerating the delivery of locally-built systems.
