The US Department of Defense has selected CoAspire to help develop affordable air-launched cruise missiles under a new multiyear framework agreement.
The agreement adds the company in the US Air Force's Family of Affordable Mass Missiles (FAMM) program, an initiative to rapidly field low-cost, long-range cruise missiles at scale.
Subject to congressional funding, the program aims to procure 28,000 missiles during its first five years beginning in fiscal year 2027.
CoAspire said its inclusion in the framework agreement establishes a pathway for the rapid and repeatable production of long-range strike weapons. The company will offer its Rapidly Adaptable Affordable Cruise Missile (RAACM).
This missile family includes variants for air, surface, and ground launch. Its baseline version has a range of hundreds of miles, enabled by an additively manufactured fuselage that maximizes fuel capacity while simplifying production.
The announcement builds on a separate agreement awarded to CoAspire in 2025 covering integration and flight testing of the RAACM aboard US Air Force aircraft.
Affordable Missiles
CoAspire is one of several companies selected to support the US effort to rapidly expand its inventory of affordable missiles.
In April, the service revived its Standoff Attack Weapon program after a four-year pause, targeting operational fielding by 2033 as a lower-cost complement to systems such as the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile and Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile.
The effort builds on AFWERX's 2024 competition to develop low-cost cruise missiles targeting a unit cost of about $150,000 in large-scale production.
