Elbit Systems has received a $10-million contract to develop an advanced night vision sensor for the US Army’s IVAS goggles.
Elbit Systems has received a $10-million contract to develop an Advanced Low Light Level Sensor (ALLLS) for the US Army’s Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) 2.0.
As part of the deal, the company will produce multiple prototype cameras for experimentation and field testing.
According to the Israeli defense firm, the ALLLS will be a critical component of the IVAS 2.0 goggles since it will integrate high-resolution digital sensors to deliver a single identical display of information for multiple commands.
The night vision technology is designed to provide next-generation situational awareness to soldiers.
Work for the contract will be performed in Virginia, with a completion date set for 2025.

Elbit Systems said that the IVAS 2.0 goggles are intended to significantly improve how a soldier senses the surrounding environment.
The enhanced heads-up display helps commanders and soldiers make critical decisions on the battlefield.
According to Elbit Systems President Raanan Horowitz, the company is committed to developing new capabilities to support a variety of military missions.
