Kraken Robotics announced $35 million in new orders for its maritime defense, offshore energy, and ocean science technologies.

Kraken Robotics has announced $35 million in new orders from undisclosed customers for technologies used in the maritime defense, offshore energy, and ocean science sectors.

The contracts cover synthetic aperture sonar, multi-aperture sonar, navigation and positioning systems, and underwater monitoring technologies supplied by Kraken and its subsidiary Covelya.

With the latest orders, the company's total for this year has reached $327 million.

Kraken's products are being integrated into crewed vessels, autonomous underwater vehicles, remotely operated vehicles, and uncrewed surface vessels.

Defense and Offshore Projects

The new orders include technologies intended for maritime defense and offshore operations. 

Among them is the Sentinel Intruder Detection Sonar, an underwater sonar designed to detect and track divers, underwater vehicles, and other submerged threats around ports and coastal facilities. 

The system is being supplied to customers in Europe and the Middle East.

KATFISH, Kraken's towed sonar system for naval mine detection and underwater infrastructure inspection, is expected to be included in procurement programs advancing later this year across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. 

In the offshore energy sector, Kraken said its On Demand Ocean Bottom Nodes, autonomous sensors installed on the seabed to collect seismic data and monitor changes in offshore oil reservoirs, are being evaluated at Petrobras' Mero field offshore Brazil.

Commercial deployment is expected in 2027.

The company also announced it will provide environmental monitoring for the Northern Endurance Partnership, the UK's first offshore carbon capture and storage project. 

Seabed sensor stations will be used to monitor the area around the carbon storage reservoir.
