The US awarded a $37.5 million contract to L3 Technologies to deliver precision aiming lasers (PAL) for Special Operations Command

The Pentagon awarded a $37,500,000 contract to the Insight Technology Division of L3 Technologies, Inc. to deliver an indefinite quantity of precision aiming laser (PAL) systems over a five-year ordering period, the U.S. Department of Defense said in a Wednesday, December 4 release.

The purchase was made for U.S. Special Operations Command's Visual Augmentation Systems Weapons Accessories program.

"The PAL combines a range finder with a ballistics and environmental sensor/processor to provide the operator with a ballistic solution for increased likelihood of first-round hit," the release read.

The work will be carried out in Londonderry, New Hampshire and is expected to be completed by November 2024.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center is the contracting activity.
