Lockheed Martin and Verizon have partnered with Nokia to integrate commercial 5G network solutions into a telecommunications base station for military wireless connectivity.

The collaboration saw Lockheed’s flagship 5G.MIL Hybrid Base Station (HBS), a unified ecosystem converging hybrid data exchange for multi-domain tactical applications, host Nokia’s military-standard 5G network offerings.

Tests involved the relay of information between Nokia’s 5G portfolio and Lockheed’s HBS components in Pennsylvania and Verizon’s Boston Innovation Center.
