Lockheed Martin has received a $99-million contract to provide maintenance support for the US Navy's Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System.
Lockheed Martin has received a $99.9-million contract from the US Navy to provide maintenance support services for the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS).
The TTWCS is a critical tool for the navy in carrying out precision strikes against enemy assets.
As part of the agreement, the company will provide further system design and development to enhance the TTWCS’s supportability and software builds.
Work for the contract will be performed in Pennsylvania, with expected completion by January 2025.
Features and Capabilities
Lockheed Martin’s TTWCS is an integral part of the Tomahawk Weapons System.
It is integrated into a ship’s navigation, communication, and situational awareness systems to execute Tomahawk missile strikes.
The control system allows engagement planning, launch all Tomahawk missile variants, and control in-flight Tactical Tomahawk missiles.
“TTWCS is one of three major segments that comprise the Tomahawk Weapons System, enabling an unprecedented war fighting capability that provides the US Navy with high volume, precision strike capability across multiple classes of surface ships and submarines,” Lockheed states on its website.
