MAPS GEN II is the US Army’s next-gen navigation system, bringing M-Code encryption, sensor fusion, and upgraded anti-jam and anti-spoof antennas.
The US Army has begun fielding its next-gen positioning, navigation, and timing system, giving military vehicles resilient, spoof-proof navigation even in GPS-degraded or denied environments.
Known as MAPS GEN II (Mounted Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing System), the system forms a key part of Transformation in Contact 2.0, the army’s push to accelerate delivery of modern equipment.
It is designed to ensure vehicle crews can shoot, move, and communicate with confidence even under electronic warfare (EW) threats.
