Drone footage could soon become instant intelligence for the US Army, as a partnership with Safe Pro Group explores using AI to automatically identify threats, hazards, and other critical objects in aerial imagery.
Drone footage could soon become instant intelligence for the US Army, as a partnership with Safe Pro Group explores using AI to automatically identify threats, hazards, and other critical objects in aerial imagery.
At the center of the effort is the company’s Safe Pro Object Threat Detection (SPOTD) platform, which uses AI-powered computer vision to analyze aerial imagery and generate 2D and 3D geospatial models.
SPOTD can identify more than 150 types of landmines and unexploded ordnance and has been deployed in Ukraine for nearly three years, according to Safe Pro.
