The US Army is getting a new way to move tanks and armored vehicles through littoral environments.

Called USAV Craney Island, the Maneuver Support Vessel (MSV) Light from Vigor Marine Fabrication can carry up to 82 tons (164,000 pounds) and reach 21 knots (39 kilometers/24 miles per hour) at full payload.

The vessel features a lightweight all-aluminum hull, drive-through bow and stern ramps, and waterjet propulsion, a combination designed to support operations in shallow and coastal waters.
