Blue Yonder Defense Solutions has secured a $62-million US Air Force contract to continue work on the service’s logistics modernization program.
Awarded by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, the contract covers continued development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of the Foundational Logistics Information Technology Enterprise System (FLITES) within a government-approved cloud environment.
FLITES works through a multi-layer digital system that combines commercial software, defense-specific modules, and software development tools intended to improve supply chain management and operational support.
Under the follow-on agreement, Blue Yonder Defense Solutions will continue providing maintenance, integration support, testing, upgrades, and problem resolution across the platform’s architecture.
The contract also ensures ongoing access to the company’s commercial off-the-shelf software, Defense Core modules, and DevNet Software Development Kit.
Improving US Defense Logistics
The Air Force is using FLITES as part of a broader effort to modernize logistics systems and improve data integration across sustainment, supply chain, and operational planning activities.
In May, the US Army awarded KBR contracts worth up to $449 million to provide logistics, sustainment, and installation support across the US and Europe under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program.
In March, the Defense Logistics Agency selected Tetra Tech for a $14-million contract to modernize IT and operational technology systems supporting military supply chains and distribution networks.
Earlier, in December 2025, the army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office tapped C3 AI to develop AI-based logistics planning tools for forecasting fuel, munitions, and spare parts needs in contested environments.
