CACI International has inaugurated a Manufacturing Center of Excellence for Defense Electronics in New York, expanding the company’s total production capacity by over 300 percent.

Located in Pittsford, Rochester, the 61,000-square-foot (5,667-square-meter) plant will serve as a hub to conceptualize, assemble, evaluate, and supply electronic warfare systems for the US Armed Forces.

Among the site’s primary roles is to assist in the production, training, acceptance testing, and storage of the US Army's Terrestrial Layer System Brigade Combat Team Manpack, an electronic warfare suite designed for dismounted soldiers operating in austere conditions.

"Years ago, we invested in software-defined innovation because we knew the character of modern warfare was changing," CACI President and CEO John Mengucci said.

"Today, those investments are being transformed into advanced electronic warfare capabilities right here in Rochester."

Company officials cited Rochester’s local engineering workforce and established supply chain network as drivers in establishing the factory in the region, which already supports small business fabrication distributors across Upstate New York.

"Demand for advanced electronic warfare technology is surging, and Rochester gives us the capacity to deliver for our customers today while preparing for tomorrow," CACI Electronic Warfare EVP Tom Kirkland said. "Our adversaries never pause, neither can we."

The opening follows CACI's continued expansion in defense business, including its $2.6-billion acquisition of ARKA Group and recent major contracts across the US Army, US Navy, and US Space Force.
