Colorado-based Apogee Engineering has secured a $103.6-million contract to deliver positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services for the US Department of Defense.
The award aligns with the agency’s ongoing projects to adopt, upgrade, and maintain PNT solutions, which consist primarily of GPS systems that are operating in aid of American and partner militaries.
The company’s work covers mission support and related technical assistance, with activities set at different US Air Force bases.
Sites specified for the initiative include Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, and Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
Backing ‘Urgency and Importance’
According to Apogee, the agreement aligns with the Pentagon’s broader goal to modernize existing navigation solutions and fast-track distribution of more resilient capabilities under evolving acquisition strategies.
The company expects that processes under the contract will “advance next-generation PNT solutions, improve system performance, and ensure reliability” for warfighters.
