The US Navy has contracted Arcfield to continue providing engineering and support services for the Code 25 combat control systems program.

The US Navy has awarded Arcfield a $75-million follow-on contract to continue providing engineering and support services for the Code 25 submarine combat control systems (CCS) program. 

The five-year contract was awarded through Rite-Solutions, which Arcfield acquired in December 2025.

The CCS program supports the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of submarine combat control systems for both new and in-service submarines. It includes the US Navy’s next-generation submarine combat control system, known as AN/BYG-1.

Under the contract, Arcfield will continue delivering engineering and technical services, including model-based systems engineering, hardware and software development, cybersecurity, and systems integration and testing. 

“Our fleet-experienced submariners and highly skilled engineers combine their operational insight with advanced digital engineering capabilities to accelerate the modernization of undersea combat systems and equip the Navy with resilient, future-ready technologies,” Arcfield Enterprise Digital and Global Engineering sector President Dan Reineke said.

AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System

The AN/BYG-1 integrates sensor data to manage submarine combat operations, including weapon targeting and launch, and to track submarines and surface vessels, improving situational awareness.

Unlike earlier systems, it uses commercial off-the-shelf hardware and software upgrades for easier modernization throughout a submarine’s service life.

Developed under a joint US-Australian program office, the system is operational aboard submarines of both navies and is being considered for integration into the future SSN-AUKUS nuclear-powered attack submarine design, to be operated by the Royal Navy and the Royal Australian Navy.
