As part of the five-year agreement, the company will continue to provide technical, engineering, logistics, management, and lifecycle support for the naval network.
Additional work will focus on the navy’s command and control capabilities, intelligence systems, computers, and communication systems.
“Our expertise in network engineering, modernization, sustainment and logistics positions us to provide long-term support to the US Navy for afloat and ashore networks,” SAIC Defense & Civilian Sector President Bob Genter stated.
“We have provided services to this program for decades and are excited to help the Navy continue its IT modernization and transformation initiatives.”
Maintaining ‘Peak’ Network Capabilities
The support will be dedicated to the US Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, according to a US Department of Defense announcement.
Related efforts under the agreement involve network design analysis and information assurance accreditation.
SAIC will also deliver sustainment services for fielded systems, related system updates, onsite repair, and end-of-life replacements “to ensure networks are performing within designed specifications and peak capabilities.”
Roughly 70 percent of the work will be conducted in San Diego, California, with the rest carried out at US defense installations abroad.
