HII segment Mission Technologies has secured a $2.2-billion task order to provide comprehensive monitoring services for the US Southern Command.
The deal centers on HII’s Surveillance, Tracking, Intelligence, Network Services, Global Reconnaissance, Analysis, and Interceptions (STINGRAI) framework that enables American and allied forces to detect, track, and disrupt narcotics trafficking and transnational criminal syndicates.
Throughout the effort, Mission Technologies will leverage software, artificial intelligence, cloud technology, and advanced analytics to modernize military networks and improve regional situational awareness.
The contract includes a one-year base period with an option for a six-year extension.
SOUTHCOM operates as one of 11 unified combatant commands in the US Armed Forces, responsible for strategies, field deployments, and security partnerships in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
Andy Green, executive vice president of HII and president of Mission Technologies, said the enterprise is honored to receive the award, calling it an "incredible opportunity" to provide SOUTHCOM’s critical requirements “to stay ahead of rapidly changing threats.”

HII in Golden Dome
The contract follows HII's admittance as an industry partner into the US Missile Defense Agency’s SHIELD contracting vehicle in support of the Pentagon’s planned Golden Dome layered air and missile defense architecture.
The award positions the company’s Mission Technologies division to assist the $151-billion effort across “a broad range of work areas,” with potential coverage such as cybersecurity, microelectronics, training, sustainment, logistics, and weapons projects.
