The company positions the device as the latest addition to its line of military laser systems used for air-to-ground coordination and targeting missions.
Built around the company’s proprietary DeathStar technology, the VSLAP-V1 combines six laser diodes into a single concentrated beam. This setup improves long-range visibility and target illumination compared to conventional laser systems.
The device is intended for use by troops coordinating with aircraft or operating in low-visibility combat environments. It supports both target pointing and flood illumination functions through an adjustable beam system.
B.E. Meyers said the laser was designed for single-handed operation, allowing users to switch between multiple power settings and pulse modes while maintaining weapon control.
High-Powered Defense Lasers
Several defense firms and military programs have accelerated the development of high-energy laser systems over the past year as armed forces pursue counter-drone and precision engagement capabilities.
In May, DarkPulse secured an agreement with the US Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division to commercialize laser sensing and targeting technologies, including exclusive US rights to three navy-held patents tied to LADAR and precision timing systems.
That same month, Laser Photonics and Fonon Technologies advanced their Laser Shield Anti-Drone System following initial testing, while Aurelius Systems opened a US production line for high-power fiber laser modules used in directed-energy weapons.
Earlier, in March, Nuburu’s Lyocon subsidiary completed the initial trials of a portable non-kinetic laser weapon designed to counter drones in contested airspace.
