The US Naval Surface Warfare Center has awarded Virginia-based ManTech a contract to develop expeditionary weapon systems capabilities.
The US Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane has awarded Virginia-based ManTech a $57-million contract to develop expeditionary weapon systems capabilities.
NSWC Crane oversees the research, prototyping, and evaluation of expeditionary weapon systems for the US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) to identify modern battlefield requirements.
Supporting Multi-Domain Platforms
Under the agreement, ManTech will integrate weapon systems and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities into manned and unmanned systems.
The technologies will be employed across SOCOM's surface, sub-surface, ground, and maritime mobility platforms.
The resulting systems and subsystems will enhance SOCOM’s various expeditionary weapons equipment, including optics, weapons ammunition, fire control systems, integrated operator displays, airframe systems, and rockets.

Through the program, SOCOM will obtain “quick-reaction and engineering analyses” for the weapon systems’ overall life-cycle management.
