The US Air Force has partnered with Parsons Corporation to equip the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle with a directed energy bomb disposal system.

The US Air Force has partnered with Parsons Corporation to equip the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) with a directed energy bomb disposal system.

The development is part of the service’s effort to modernize its Recovery of Airbase Denied by Ordnance (RADBO) capabilities, which consist of vehicles mounted with laser technology designed to neutralize unexploded materials in airfields and other environments.

Under the collaboration, the Virginia-based company will provide its flagship Zeus 4 high-energy weapon, which can clear up to 50 different types of ordnance, including landmines and general-purpose bombs.
