South Korea Taps Hyundai Rotem for AI-Powered Military Robotics Programs

Physical AI is emerging as a key focus of South Korea’s next-generation defense strategy, with Hyundai Rotem securing two state-backed projects aimed at advancing autonomous military robotics and unmanned battlefield systems.

The first project centers on developing software that enables soldiers to control multiple unmanned robots simultaneously using natural language commands, replacing the need for individual controllers for each system.

The second project focuses on a digital twin simulator designed to model and evaluate autonomous systems in realistic virtual environments before deployment.
