South Korean Army Grapples With Back-to-Back Friendly Drone Blunders

The Republic of Korea Army was involved in two recent incidents in which friendly drones were mistaken for potential threats, with both cases reportedly coming close to an engagement.

Earlier this week, Rep. Sung Il-jong claimed the 1st Army Corps nearly downed a military drone conducting a flight test.

Deployed along the country’s western front bordering North Korea, the unit was reportedly notified in advance about the planned drone flight.
