Australian Firm Develops Handheld Device That Reads the Electromagnetic Battlefield

Australian firm DroneShield is shrinking radio-frequency (RF) intelligence into a handheld package, giving operators a single device to detect, identify, locate, and assess signals on the battlefield.

Called RfRecon, the system features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Remote ID, ship and aircraft detection, integrated Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and hardware-based security.

At its core, the device combines ultra-wideband coverage, direction finding, signal intelligence, and an open architecture with common data formats to support integration with existing networks.
