The network’s focus would be on the Pacific island nations with relatively weak countermeasures, Nikkei Asia revealed.
It includes sharing of signs and methods of attacks to deploy appropriate countermeasures.
Chinese Cyber Attacks
China is suspected of having targeted 200 Japanese organizations through cyber attacks, including the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, according to the outlet.
Chinese military hackers have also reportedly been able to gain Japanese defense secrets.
Funds to Bolster Cyber Capabilities
The Japanese Foreign Ministry has earmarked the strengthening of cyber capabilities overseas in the fiscal 2024 draft budget, which will be presented this summer.
The funding would support Southeast Asian and Pacific island nations, where China is increasing its military presence.
The support includes equipment installations and capacity building through joint training sessions and a World Bank fund for human resources, Nikkei Asia explained.
