General Dynamics has secured a contract to deliver cybersecurity services for the US Air Force Civil Engineer Center.
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has secured a contract to deliver cybersecurity services for the US Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC).
The AFCEC operates under the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, which oversees the service's design, construction, investments, management, restoration, and the compliance of its physical facilities.
The task order, which costs $185 million, requires the company to explore new strategies to decrease digital risks to the service’s control systems.
Covered systems include utility monitoring, airfield control, building automation, and life safety platforms.
The firm will utilize cybersecurity and zero trust expertise across 188 international air force installations throughout the contract.
“Protecting our operational technologies from our adversaries is vital to our national security,” GDIT Defense Senior Vice President Brian Sheridan stated.
“As a long-standing partner of the Air Force, we look forward to reimagining new ways to secure its critical infrastructure.”
Latest Cyber Contracts
GDIT signed a $922-million contract in April to modernize the US Central Command’s enterprise information technology infrastructure.
In November 2023, the company teamed with industry partner HII Mission Technologies to improve data-sharing capabilities for the Five Eyes intelligence cooperation.
GDIT then won its “biggest” US Air Force award in September 2023 to implement services for information, communications, personnel, cyber security, and corresponding counterintelligence analysis.
In 2022, the Pentagon selected the firm to provide network services and associated support for the US Air Force in Europe and Africa.
