General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has received a $1.3-billion contract to provide comprehensive IT and cybersecurity services for the US Army National Guard.
The deal encompasses modernization and assembly of new enterprise and IT ecosystems directly supporting warfighter missions and federal government partners.
Works include the establishment of new operations centers, workforce management, equipment delivery, and related on-site assistance.
A large portion of the initiative will focus on integrating and securing the force’s classified and unclassified networks, with processes to include the utility of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and appropriate communication technologies.
Activities will be facilitated for one year and include an option for a six-year extension.
Driving Mission Readiness
GDIT said that the award provides “a more agile and resilient” cyber posture for the Army National Guard, consolidating workflows across the force while maintaining IT availability for servicemen.
It was signed in parallel with the company’s ongoing service-wide support tasks for the US Army, including the provision of enterprise IT handling for soldiers in Europe and Africa, installation security maintenance, helicopter training assistance, and mission training complex services.
