The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and Serco have completed construction of the initial No Manning Required Ship prototype.
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Serco have completed construction of the initial No Manning Required Ship (NOMARS) prototype.
The NOMARS program plans to develop a fleet of medium-sized unmanned surface vessels employed for US Navy payload transports without mission systems or human intervention.
Named the “USX Defiant,” the first testbed will now undergo complex waterborne trials at dockside and in the theater.
