Turkey Eyes Joint Drone Development, Production With Japan

Turkey has announced intent to expand defense-industrial cooperation with Japan through joint development and production of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan outlined the move in an interview with Nikkei, saying Ankara’s drone industry and Tokyo’s technological base provide strong potential for collaboration.

“Türkiye and Japan have complementary capabilities, and we believe there is strong potential for mutually beneficial collaboration,” he said.
