ARX Robotics has secured a contract to deliver Gereon UGVs to Ukraine, paving the way for the world’s largest military ground robot fleet.

Munich-based ARX Robotics has secured a contract to deliver additional Gereon unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to Ukraine, paving the way for the world’s largest integrated network of military ground robots.

Already operating on Ukraine’s front lines, the fleet is set to grow to hundreds of systems integrated via the company’s Mithra operating system, enabling coordinated large-scale operations.

Production is distributed across Europe and Ukraine, with local partners ramping up to enhance industrial resilience and fast-track delivery.

“For soldiers on the ground, the expanded fleet means greater standoff distances, faster logistics, and reduced exposure to high-risk tasks — directly enhancing survivability and operational tempo,” ARX Robotics stated.

Gereon UGV

ARX developed the system in partnership with the Ukrainian company Frontline as part of a European-Ukrainian program, incorporating continuous, direct input from end users.

Built on the company’s established Gereon RCS platform, the vehicle has been reengineered into a combat-ready configuration equipped with integrated AI systems.

Gereon is designed to autonomously tackle obstacle clearance and heavy-load transport, boosting efficiency across military and commercial missions while easing the strain on limited manpower.

Capable of hauling up to 500 kilograms (1,102 pounds) for as far as 40 kilometers (25 miles), the UGV can be tailored for a wide range of tasks — from carrying supplies and evacuating casualties to operating as a forward-deployed surveillance node.

Mithra OS

At the core of the vehicle is the Mithra operating system, designed to interconnect whole fleets, deliver updates with minimal disruption, and facilitate mission-tailored configuration.

The system fuses sensors, autonomous functions, and networked communications, enabling the vehicles to operate as intelligent, adaptive assets.
