The five-year deal covers upgrades designed to improve maneuverability and survivability across the full spectrum of the battlefield. It also reflects rising demand in Europe for integrated battlefield networks and drone-driven warfare.
According to Elbit, the contract includes unmanned autonomous platforms, software-defined radios, land-based electronic warfare systems, electro-optical reconnaissance and targeting systems, and precision-guided munitions for artillery and air-to-ground missions.
“This contract reflects the breadth and attractiveness of Elbit Systems’ defense portfolio, as well as our ability to deliver both highly capable, best-in-class systems and comprehensive, integrated solutions tailored to evolving operational needs,” Elbit CEO Bezhalel Machlis said.
Elbit Expands European Portfolio
The latest award adds to a growing list of European contracts secured by Elbit Systems over the past year.
In March, the firm partnered with KNDS to market the EuroPULS rocket artillery system to European armed forces.
A month earlier, the company secured roughly $435 million in international contracts to deliver advanced land systems and support the development of new defense capabilities over the next six years.
In January, Elbit also won contracts valued at about $150 million to equip the aircraft fleets of European customers with its advanced J-MUSIC Directed Infrared Countermeasures systems.
