L3Harris has selected a Polish defense company to produce propulsion components for the Patriot PAC-3 missile system.
The company said it issued a purchase order to the state-owned Wojskowe Zaklady Elektroniczne S.A. (WZE) for the production of Attitude Control Motors used in PAC-3 interceptors operated by the US Army and allied countries.
PAC-3 missiles use hit-to-kill technology to intercept ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and aircraft. Each interceptor contains 180 Attitude Control Motors, which make small trajectory adjustments during flight to improve targeting accuracy.
Production will take place at WZE’s facility in Zielonka following the installation of specialized manufacturing equipment and technical training conducted at L3Harris’ rocket motor production site in Camden, Arkansas.
According to L3Harris, WZE has completed production readiness and manufacturing verification reviews and is expected to begin low-rate initial production soon.
“This important milestone with WZE demonstrates key progress in diversifying our missile propulsion supply base while ensuring our global allies are equipped with critical defense technology,” L3Harris Missile Propulsion President Scott Alexander said.
L3Harris Defense Ties With Poland
The WZE deal is part of broader defense cooperation between L3Harris and Polish industry tied to Warsaw’s military modernization push.
In May, Polish shipbuilder PGZ Stocznia Wojenna selected L3Harris’ Integrated Platform Management System for three new warships, enabling monitoring and control of critical onboard functions to improve operational efficiency and situational awareness.
In February, L3Harris and Thales demonstrated upgraded VAMPIRE counter-drone systems during live testing at a military base in Poland.
Earlier, in August 2025, L3Harris began producing electro-optical and infrared sensor systems in Katowice to support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions across Europe.
