Navantia UK is expanding its autonomous maritime ambitions with a new Large Autonomous Surface Vessel concept designed to operate in challenging sea conditions.
Navantia UK is expanding its autonomous maritime ambitions with a new Large Autonomous Surface Vessel concept designed to operate in challenging sea conditions.
Named the LASV75, the modular platform measures 75 meters (246 feet) long, nearly 12 meters (39.4 feet) wide, and reportedly displaces around 1,000 tonnes.
The vessel is being developed to support future “hybrid navy” operations that combine crewed and uncrewed platforms with autonomous technologies.
