Sweden will donate 10 Coast Guard vessels to Ukraine for rescue, transport, towing, and mine-clearance operations.
The package includes workboats and high-speed boats that will be transferred in their current condition.
Swedish identification markings and government-specific equipment will be removed before delivery.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service will receive the vessels and use them for waterborne rescue operations, including clearing mines from riverbeds.
The Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency will arrange their transportation to Ukraine.
Broader Swedish Support for Ukraine
The Scandinavian country has allocated 157 billion kronor ($14 billion) in military and civilian assistance to Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Stockholm has also contributed to European Union macroeconomic support and sanctions against Moscow.
In July, Sweden and Ukraine finalized a 24.6-billion-krona ($2.53-billion) intergovernmental agreement for the planned procurement of 16 Saab JAS 39 Gripen E fighter jets, including training and support services with deliveries scheduled for 2029 and 2030.
Sweden also plans to donate 16 Gripen C/D fighters, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.
Earlier this year, Stockholm announced a 12.9-billion-krona ($1.4-billion) military assistance package focused largely on air defense and ammunition for previously supplied systems.
Of that amount, around 4.3 billion kronor ($473.3 million) was allocated for an advanced short-range air-defense capability, including additional TRIDON Mk2 mobile anti-aircraft systems.
