Multispectral camouflage is a concealment system that reduces the visibility of vehicles, equipment, and personnel across visual, infrared, and radar spectrums.
Switzerland is boosting its military’s concealment capabilities with multispectral camouflage, turning to three European defense firms to hide vehicles, personnel, and infrastructure from drones, radar, and infrared sensors.
After extensive testing, the country’s defense procurement agency (Armasuisse) awarded contracts to SSZ Camouflage Technology AG of Switzerland, Saro GmbH of Germany, and Saab of Sweden.
The procurement covers 14 separate lots, each awarded to the supplier whose solution best met Switzerland’s technical and operational needs.
