The Turkish Ministry of National Defense’s research and development (R&D) arm has equipped the country with its “most powerful” conventional aerial bomb to date.
Unveiled at this year’s International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) in Istanbul, the thermobaric “GAZAP” reportedly weighs over 2,000 pounds (970 kilograms) and scatters more than 10,000 fragments within a one-kilometer (0.62-mile) radius.
This makes it just a step below nuclear weapons in terms of destructive capacity, according to military analysts.
