Saab is tightening the loop between target detection and tracking with the Giraffe AMB D, a new radar system that updates tracked targets every second, enabling near real-time air surveillance for short- and medium-range air defense roles.
At its core, the system combines active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar hardware with updated software and modern processing to enhance surveillance performance.
It is designed to improve situational awareness through extended detection range and more advanced target tracking capabilities.
