Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles has been contracted to supply over 1,300 logistics vehicles to the German Armed Forces.
Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) has been contracted to supply over 1,300 logistics vehicles to the German Armed Forces.
The approximately 770-million-euro ($891-million) order includes 963 vehicles equipped with swap-body systems — some featuring protected driver cabins — as well as flatbeds and tarpaulin-arch superstructures.
Also requested are 425 unprotected transport vehicles (UTV) in 4x4 and 8x8 configurations.
Delivery is expected before the end of 2025.
“As a reliable partner of the Bundeswehr, we are delighted to be delivering additional vehicles and thus contributing to the mobility and operational readiness of the armed forces,” Chairman of the Board of Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles André Barthel said.
$4-Billion Framework Agreement
The UTV order is part of a 3.5-billion-euro ($4-billion) framework agreement signed in July 2024 for the delivery of up to 6,500 vehicles.
The seven-year agreement allows the German military to flexibly procure additional vehicles in the 5-ton and 15-ton categories as needed.
The latest order adds a new class of 3.5-ton vehicles in the 4x4 configuration to the agreement.
The German military’s logistics units have operated the UTV vehicle family for several years, having contracted RMMV in 2017 to supply new 5-ton and 15-ton cargo variants.
Since then, approximately 7,000 HX vehicles have been delivered to the military, along with swap bodies and 70-ton semi-trailer units.
UTV and swap-body systems are based on RMMV's HX vehicle family.
