The Republic of China Armed Forces has unveiled a new emergency vehicle for warfighters at Feng Chia University in Taichung.

The system was developed to improve the military’s rapid rescue capabilities on the battlefield and optimize the efficiency of corresponding medical procedures for injured troops.

According to Taiwan’s announcement, the platform features an enhanced rear cabin with upgraded electrical functions, lighting, and storage.

Medical equipment inside the ambulance includes physiology monitoring devices and four sets of advanced monitoring modules for patients with critical trauma.

The cabin itself can be converted into bed mode for up to four people or seat mode for up to 10 people.

Meanwhile, the hull is fitted with a nuclear, biological, and chemical filtration system with a pressure design to protect specialists and patients from external toxic gases and hazardous substances.

Based on Iveco Truck

Images released by Taiwan’s state-owned Military News Agency show that the tactical emergency vehicle is modified according to the Daily 4x4 truck developed by the Italian automobile company Iveco.

The standard Daily 4x4 platform is offered in van or cab variants with wheelbases measuring up to ​4 meters (13 feet).

The system is powered by a Euro III 3-liter turbodiesel engine with 150 horsepower for a speed of 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour.
