The US Army is calling on industry partners to transform a 50mm cannon into a counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) capable of tracking and defeating Class 1, 2, and 3 drone threats.

An official notice from the Army Contracting Command – New Jersey asks companies to outline existing or conceptual capabilities for integrating a 50mm ammunition solution with the XM913 cannon.

The army will provide participating companies with an XM913 cannon assembly, 50mm ammunition, technical data, and access to government test facilities for live-fire demonstrations.
