Wisconsin-based Oshkosh Defense has received a contract to deliver medium tactical vehicles to the US Army.
The $108.9 million order covers production and delivery of the company’s proprietary Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles A2 (FMTV A2) and corresponding trailers.
Oshkosh wrote that the systems will be distributed for army use and projects supporting foreign military sales with international partners.
The FMTV A2 is a modernized version of the company’s FMTV A1P2 product line in service with the US military since the 1980s.
Each FMTV A2 has crew-protecting armor, enhanced engine power, increased alternator capacity, and a reinforced underbody chassis and suspension.
The vehicle is offered in tractor, wrecker, dump, load handling system, and cargo 4x4 and 6x6 variants.

Recent Army Vehicle Projects
Oshkosh signed a $201-million contract in 2023 to supply FMTV A2s in 16 configurations and trailers for the US Army. This deal followed a similar contract for more than 400 FMTVs worth $141 million.
The same year, the company accepted a $57-million order to develop 116 Enhanced Heavy Equipment Transporter System trailers for the service.
In the fourth quarter, Oshkosh signed a $342-million agreement to provide Medium Equipment Trailers for the army and another $89 million for the delivery of Heavy Equipment Transporter tractors.
