Germany has contracted Fassmer for the construction and delivery of four training vessels for the German Navy.
The contract forms part of the Sea-Based Training and Sea Trials (modified) project, with delivery of the first vessel scheduled for the end of 2028.
The vessels will serve as training platforms for survival-at-sea courses and nautical instruction, supporting the education of naval personnel in core maritime skills such as navigation, seamanship, ship handling, stability, and safety management.
Fassmer previously delivered two training boats for the German Armed Forces Technical Center for Ships and Naval Weapons (WTD 71). According to the company, the follow-on contract validates the platform’s operational utility.
“The renewed contract confirms the capability of our team and the appreciation for on-time delivery, adherence to the agreed budget, and the quality of the previously built SV-Küste units,” Managing Director of Fassmer Harald Fassmer said.
“We are pleased to contribute to the future-oriented training of the German Navy with these four additional boats.”
