Ultra Maritime has demonstrated an integrated sonar capability combining active and passive sensing for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and counter-unmanned underwater vehicle (C-UUV) missions.

The capability combines the company’s Sea Spear deployable passive sonar with its SSQ-125B active sonobuoy, which Ultra Maritime describes as the first of its kind.

The SSQ-125B complements Sea Spear’s passive sensing, allowing the combined system to detect UUVs passively and determine their location using active sonar.
